How to set stream server details in B.U.T.T.

BUTT (Broadcast Using This Tool) sends your live show to your station. The values it needs are in your account: open Radio, choose your station and open Go live › Encoder settings. Each value has a copy button, and Show reveals the password.

Add the server in BUTT

  1. Open BUTT and click Settings.
  2. Under Main, click Add next to the server list.
  3. Name: any name for this profile, for example your station name.
  4. Type: Icecast. Every new station runs on Icecast. Pick SHOUTcast only if you switched your station to SHOUTcast in the panel.
  5. Address and Port: the Server and Port from Encoder settings.
  6. Password: your source password.
  7. Icecast mountpoint: /stream. Icecast user: source.
  8. Click Add, then the play button in BUTT to go on air.

On Platinum: connect through our nearest server

Platinum stations also get a Nearest server block at the top of Encoder settings. Its server (it begins with ingest.radio.) and port 14000 connect BUTT to the nearest of our five cities, New York, Miami, San Francisco, Amsterdam or Bucharest, which passes your show straight on to your station. The mount carries your station number in front of /stream; copy it as the panel prints it. Your listeners are served from their nearest city too, so the station starts faster and buffers less far from New York. The direct settings above keep working on every plan.

Bitrate

Under Audio, choose MP3 at or below your plan's bitrate: up to 32 kbps on Free, 128 on Premium and 320 on Platinum. From 20 October 2026 an encoder that sends a Free station more than 32 kbps is disconnected, and Encoder settings shows why.
