You pay a one-time $5 setup fee and nothing after that. What is SSL radio streaming?Your stream is delivered over HTTPS, the same encryption your website uses. Browsers block insecure audio on secure pages, so an HTTPS stream is what lets your player work on any modern website. Which software can my studio use?Anything that speaks Icecast or SHOUTcast for radio (BUTT, Mixxx, SAM Broadcaster, RadioBOSS and many more) and anything that sends RTMP for video (OBS Studio, vMix, Wirecast, hardware encoders). Can I upgrade later?Yes. Move to a bigger plan from your dashboard at any time; your stream address and your audience stay where they are. How do I pay?By card, PayPal or cryptocurrency. Radio, video and hosting plans can be billed monthly or yearly, and yearly costs less; cloud servers are billed by the month. Where are your servers?Radio stations are hosted in New York (USA) or Bucharest (EU), and on the Platinum plan listeners tune in from the nearest of five cities. Websites and cloud servers run in New York. Live video channels run in New York or Bucharest, on availability. ## Put your station on air today Free plan, $5 setup, the encoder you already use. Built for broadcasters ## What your station gets ### An HTTPS stream Browsers refuse to play insecure audio on secure pages. Your stream is served over HTTPS, so the player works on your website, in apps and in directories. ### Live DJs from anywhere Connect BUTT, Mixxx, SAM Broadcaster or RadioBOSS and you are live. DJs can take turns without sharing one computer. ### AutoDJ that never sleeps On paid plans, upload your music and AutoDJ plays it around the clock, stepping aside the moment a live DJ connects. ### Listener statistics See who is tuned in right now and your peaks; paid plans add show-by-show audience figures, kept 30 or 90 days. ### Icecast or SHOUTcast Your station starts on Icecast, and one switch in the control panel moves it to SHOUTcast DNAS 2.6, with a listing in the SHOUTcast Directory. ### Help in seconds Stuck on an encoder setting at midnight? Chat answers right away, and a person takes over whenever you ask. Platinum · nearest server ## Every listener on the nearest server, wherever they are Your station is hosted in New York or Bucharest. On the Platinum plan, our global delivery network serves every listener from whichever of five cities is nearest, and your encoder connects to the nearest one as well. - One listen link. Each listener is sent to our server nearest their network, which holds a single feed of your station for all its listeners there. - Your encoder, nearest server. It connects close by, and that server forwards the broadcast to your station; passwords, AutoDJ and DJ slots behave as before. - A failed server is skipped. Every server is checked every 10 seconds; after 2 failed checks in a row, new listeners go to the next nearest. - Counted once. Every listener shows up once in your statistics, whichever city they tuned in from. Platinum stations find the nearest-server listen link and encoder settings in the control panel's Radio section. On Free and Premium, listeners and encoders connect to the server your station is hosted on. Links and encoder settings already in use stay valid on all plans. - New York, Bucharest: stations are hosted here; listeners and encoders connect here too - San Francisco, Miami, Amsterdam: listeners and encoders connect here Where listeners are sent, by region | | Listeners in | Served from, nearest first | North America | New York | Latin America and the Caribbean | Miami, then New York | Western Europe | Amsterdam, then Bucharest | Eastern Europe | Bucharest, then Amsterdam | North Africa and the rest of Africa | Amsterdam, then Bucharest | The Middle East | Bucharest, then Amsterdam | West Asia: Turkey and the Caucasus | Bucharest, then Amsterdam | South and Central Asia | Bucharest, then Amsterdam | Asia-Pacific | San Francisco, then New York New York stands behind every region as well. Paste it into your site, your app or a radio directory. - Plays on Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, desktop and mobile - No mixed-content warnings on HTTPS sites - Works with VLC, Winamp, iTunes and smart speakers ## Compare radio plans Radio plan comparison | | Feature | Free | Premium | Platinum | Nearest-server delivery | Platinum | Platinum | Listeners and encoder, 5 cities | Listeners | 1,000 at a time | 2,500 at a time | 5,000 at a time | Bitrate | 32 kbps | 128 kbps | Up to 320 kbps | AutoDJ | Live only | — | — | Statistics | 7 days | 30 days | 90 days | Support | Email | Phone and live chat | Priority help | AutoDJ library | — | 20 GB | 100 GB | DJ accounts | — | 5 | 20 | Streams | — | — | 3 | Price | Free, $5 setup | $39/mo or $228/yr | $79/mo or $708/yr ## Questions people ask What does the $5 setup fee on the free plan pay for?It covers creating your station and keeps the free plan free of abuse. It is charged once; the free plan itself costs nothing. How many listeners can I have?Free carries 1,000 listeners at once, Premium 2,500 and Platinum 5,000. Premium and Platinum include 500,000 and 1.5 million listener hours a month. What is the difference between 32, 128 and 320 kbps? The bitrate is how much detail your audio keeps. 32 kbps suits talk radio; 128 kbps sounds good for music on any device; 320 kbps is the most a stream carries, for studio-grade sound. Platinum also runs 3 streams, so phones can take a lighter one. Can I broadcast live and use AutoDJ?Yes, on Premium and Platinum. AutoDJ plays your library and steps aside when a live DJ connects, then resumes when they disconnect. Where do my listeners connect from?On Platinum, from the nearest of our five cities: San Francisco, Miami, New York, Amsterdam, Bucharest. Your encoder can connect to the nearest one too. On Free and Premium, listeners and encoders connect to the server your station is hosted on. Can I move my station here from another host?Yes. Point your encoder at your new address, upload your music to AutoDJ, and update your player link. Our chat will walk you through it. ## Go on air today Free station, $5 one-time setup. A resource or feature included in the price of a paid plan (such as its bandwidth, IP addresses or storage) is part of that paid plan, not a Free Service, unless it is offered separately at no charge; this section does not reduce what the Terms of Service give a paid service, even in an account that also holds a Free Service. The Terms of Service apply to Free Services and to the people who use them, whether or not they have purchased anything, as they apply to paid services, except as this section provides. Get Stream Hosting is a brand under which Data Room, Inc. provides services under the Terms of Service, and in this section "Get Stream Hosting" means Data Room, Inc. acting under that brand. Where this section and another provision of the Terms of Service, a plan description, product page, offer, advertisement, email, chat or any other communication say different things about a Free Service, this section prevails. ### 19.2 Provided as is, as a courtesy Free Services are provided as a courtesy, "as is" and "as available", with no service level, uptime or availability commitment, support obligation, response time or service credit. Any service level agreement, uptime guarantee or support plan Get Stream Hosting offers applies only to paid services. If Get Stream Hosting helps with a Free Service, it does not have to do so again. ### 19.3 Changes, suspension and termination at any time Get Stream Hosting may, at any time, at its sole discretion, with or without notice, and for any reason or no reason: - change, limit, reduce or remove any feature, limit, quota, bitrate, number of listeners or viewers, storage, bandwidth, number of connections, retention period or availability of a Free Service; - move a Free Service to other servers, IP addresses, hostnames, ports, locations, software or platforms, even where this changes the addresses your listeners, viewers or users connect to; - suspend or interrupt a Free Service, in whole or in part; - stop offering a Free Service, or a kind of Free Service, to everyone or to you; - terminate a Free Account or a Free Service and delete its content, settings, logs, statistics and other data, without keeping a copy. The five (5) business days' notice of section 13.1 does not apply to a Free Service. A notice Get Stream Hosting gives once does not oblige it to give one again. A change Get Stream Hosting makes to a Free Service under this section is not an update of the Terms of Service, and section 15 does not apply to it. ### 19.4 Limits are enforced automatically The limits of a Free Service (for example its maximum bitrate, number of simultaneous listeners or viewers, storage, bandwidth or number of connections) may be enforced automatically and without warning. A stream, upload, connection or request that exceeds a limit may be refused, throttled, disconnected or interrupted. Repeated or deliberate attempts to exceed or get around a limit may lead to suspension or termination under this section and section 9. ### 19.5 Conditions for keeping a Free Account Get Stream Hosting may require, as a condition of keeping or continuing to use a Free Account, that you verify your identity, email address, phone number or payment method; that you keep the account active, by signing in, streaming or otherwise using it within a period Get Stream Hosting sets (an inactive Free Account may be suspended or terminated); that you accept the current version of the Terms of Service; that you upgrade to a paid plan; or that you meet any other condition Get Stream Hosting publishes for the Free Service. Get Stream Hosting may limit the number of Free Accounts per person, household, organization, payment method or IP address, and may suspend or terminate Free Accounts it reasonably believes were opened to get around a limit. ### 19.6 No liability, refunds, credits or compensation To the maximum extent permitted by law, Get Stream Hosting is not liable to you or to anyone else for any loss or damage arising from or related to a Free Service, or from any change, limit, interruption, disconnection, move, suspension, termination or deletion under this section, including loss of listeners, viewers or audience, rankings or directory listings, revenue, profits, advertising or sponsorship income, data, content, recordings, settings, goodwill or business, and the cost of replacement services. Get Stream Hosting disclaims all warranties for Free Services, express or implied, as section 11 provides, including non-infringement. Where the law does not allow liability to be excluded entirely, section 12 limits it, and since no fees are paid for a Free Service, Get Stream Hosting's total liability for all claims relating to Free Services is the lowest amount the law allows. No refund, credit, service credit, compensation or other remedy is owed for a Free Service or for anything this section allows, and the Refund Policy does not apply to Free Services. Nothing in this section limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or takes away a right the law gives a consumer that cannot be set aside by agreement. ### 19.7 Paid plans and your backups Upgrading to a paid plan is the way to get guaranteed limits and resources, and the service levels and support that come with that plan. You are solely responsible for keeping your own current backups, outside the Free Service, of everything you store, stream, upload or configure on it, including media, playlists, recordings, websites, databases, email and settings. Get Stream Hosting does not have to back up, keep, restore or export the content or data of a Free Service, before or after it is changed, suspended or terminated. ### 19.8 Existing and future free accounts This section applies to every Free Service and Free Account, including those opened before it was published: to an account opened after it was published, from sign-up; to an account opened before, as section 15 provides. Continued use of a Free Service after this section applies to you means that you accept it. ### 19.9 Severability and survival If any part of this section is found unenforceable for a particular person, place or Free Service, it is enforced to the maximum extent the law allows, and the rest of this section and of the Terms of Service stays in effect. Sections 19.6 and 19.7, and sections 11, 12 and 14, survive the change, suspension or termination of a Free Service, the closing of a Free Account and the end of the Terms of Service. - Home - Privacy Policy # Privacy Policy Get Stream Hosting is a brand of Data Room Inc. Open your dashboard - Home - Publishing guides - Shipping the Android build to Google Play # Shipping the Android build to Google Play From an empty Play Console to a production release with Android Auto enabled. On a personal developer account opened after 13 November 2023, budget at least two weeks extra: Google gates production behind a closed test. - Registration: $25, once - Any OS can upload - Media3 Android Auto support built in Menu names follow Play Console as of 2026. Google moves items between sections occasionally; the page each step needs keeps its purpose even when its label changes. ## 1. Register the developer account - Sign in at play.google.com/console with the Google account that will own the listing. - Pick the account type. A personal account publishes as an individual. An organization account publishes as a legal entity and requires its D-U-N-S number from Dun & Bradstreet; request it in advance, since issuance is not instant. - Pay the one-time $25 fee and complete verification. Expect identity documents and contact checks, and allow a few days. Ownership: Google does support transferring an app between developer accounts, but registering under the long-term owner from the start avoids the transfer entirely. ## 2. Know whether the closed-test gate applies Personal accounts created after 13 November 2023 cannot release to production until a closed test has run with 12 or more testers opted in for 14 consecutive days. Organization accounts are exempt. - Recruit testers before the build is ready: staff, presenters and regular listeners with Android phones. - Record the Google account address each tester uses on their device; the tester list is keyed on it. - Keep the opted-in count at 12 or above for the full window. A dip below the threshold can restart the 14-day count. ## 3. Create the app record - Select Create app. - Enter the app name (30-character limit; use the station name listeners search for) and the default listing language. - Set the type to App and pricing to Free. The free setting is one-way on Google Play, which suits an app with no paywall. - Confirm the policy and export declarations, then create the record. ## 4. Fill in the store listing The listing lives at Main store listing, inside the Store presence section. - Short description, 80 characters at most; full description, up to 4,000. - Upload google-play/icon-512.png as the 512 × 512 app icon and google-play/feature-graphic-1024x500.jpg as the feature graphic. - Phone screenshots: a minimum of two. The Store images archive has none, so sideload the .apk onto a handset and capture the player, the schedule and a podcast episode. - Under Store settings, set the category to Music & Audio and enter a support email and website. ## 5. Complete the App content declarations The Dashboard's setup checklist links each declaration Google requires before the first release. - Privacy policy: the generated URL from the panel. - Ads: the app contains none. - App access: no restricted areas and no credentials needed. - Content rating: the IARC questionnaire. Describe the programming accurately; the rating is computed from your answers. - Target audience: the age bands the station serves. Including under-13s brings Google's Families policy into scope. - Data safety: no analytics, no account system and no advertising identifiers are in the build, and it collects no personal data. The stream server necessarily receives each listener's IP address to deliver audio; Google's definition generally excludes data processed ephemerally to serve a request. The declaration is yours to make; see Google's Data safety documentation for how collection is defined. - Further declarations (advertising ID, news apps, government, health or financial features): answer for your station. The build does not read the advertising ID. ## 6. Run the closed test (personal accounts only) - Go to Testing → Closed testing and create a track, or reuse the default one. - Add testers as an email list or a Google Group. - Create a release on the track with the .aab; the signing prompt on the first upload is covered in step 7. - Distribute the opt-in URL. A tester counts only after accepting it and installing from Play. - After 14 consecutive days at 12 or more testers, use Apply for production on the Dashboard and answer Google's questions about the test; Google reviews the application. ## 7. Upload with Play App Signing enabled - On the Production track (or a test track), select Create new release. - Accept Play App Signing. Google holds the app signing key that devices verify; your upload key only authenticates what you send to Google. - Upload the .aab. The panel signed it with your project's upload key, generated on the first Android build. - Add release notes and save the release. Back up the upload key. Use Download upload key on the panel's Android upload key card; the .p12 downloads and its password is shown once. Builds keep being signed with that key, and every update you upload is verified against it. ## 8. Opt in to Android Auto The build already exposes its library through Media3, which is what Android Auto browses. Distribution to cars is a separate opt-in. - Open Advanced settings: under Test and release in the current console, or Release in older layouts. - On the Form factors tab, add Android Auto. - Accept the Android for Cars terms. Google may run a separate review of the in-car experience against its driving-safety quality guidelines. ## 9. Release and submit for review - Clear every item on the Dashboard checklist. - Start the production rollout, and send the changes for review from Publishing overview if managed publishing holds them there. - Review of a new app commonly takes a few days, longer on a new developer account. - After approval the listing goes live; the store URL ends in your package name from Store identifiers. Updates: rebuild in the panel (each build carries a higher version code) and create a release with the new .aab. Feed-driven content, from streams and schedule to podcasts and links, never needs a release. Inputs ## Have these before you start - A long-lived Google account: it owns the developer account, and with it the app - App bundle (.aab): signed with your upload key, plus the Test app (.apk) for screenshots - Store images (.zip): google-play/icon-512.png and google-play/feature-graphic-1024x500.jpg - Privacy policy URL: generated for the app; copy it from Publish in the stores - Testers, if the account is personal: at least 12 Android users with Google accounts Open your dashboard ## Need help? All publishing guides - Home - Publishing guides - Shipping the iOS build to the App Store # Shipping the iOS build to the App Store The panel hands you a complete Xcode project: no CocoaPods, no Swift packages, nothing to fetch. You sign it with your team, archive it, upload it to App Store Connect and pass App Review. CarPlay is an entitlement Apple grants separately, so it comes last. - Apple Developer Program: $99 a year - Xcode 26 or later, on macOS - iOS 16 and later, iPhone and iPad Labels follow Xcode 26 and App Store Connect as of 2026. Apple renames screens between releases; each step names what the screen is for. ## 1. Enrol in the Apple Developer Program - Enrol at developer.apple.com/programs using an Apple Account the station controls long term. - Enrol as an individual (the App Store shows your personal name as seller) or an organization (the legal entity's name; requires its D-U-N-S number). - Pay the $99 annual fee. Approval can take a few days, typically longer for organizations. ## 2. Prepare Xcode - Install Xcode from the Mac App Store, free of charge. - Use Xcode 26 or later: since 2026, App Store Connect rejects uploads built against an SDK older than iOS 26. - Add your developer account under Xcode → Settings → Accounts so automatic signing can create certificates and profiles. ## 3. Open the project and set the team - Download the Xcode project (.zip) from the panel and extract it. - Open StationApp.xcodeproj. - Select the StationApp target and open Signing & Capabilities. - Keep Automatically manage signing on and choose your Team. The bundle identifier is preset by Config/Station.xcconfig; Xcode registers it as an App ID on your team. Leave the build settings alone. Everything station-specific lives in Config/Station.xcconfig, which the generator writes, and editing it by hand would diverge from what the panel builds next time. ## 4. Create the App Store Connect record - At appstoreconnect.apple.com, go to Apps, then + → New App. - Platform iOS; a name of 30 characters or fewer; the primary language. - Select the bundle ID registered in step 3, and enter a SKU: an internal reference of your choosing, never shown publicly. If the bundle ID is missing from the menu, register it manually under Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles → Identifiers at developer.apple.com, copying the value from the panel. ## 5. Archive and upload the build - Set the run destination to Any iOS Device (arm64). - Product → Archive. The Organizer opens on the new archive. - Distribute App → App Store Connect, accepting the default options. - Wait for processing; the build appears in App Store Connect when it completes, and Apple sends an email. Export compliance: the Info.plist sets ITSAppUsesNonExemptEncryption to NO, so processed builds should not wait on the encryption question. ## 6. Complete the listing metadata - App Information: subtitle (optional) and primary category, typically Music. For content rights, declare that the app streams your own broadcast. - Pricing and Availability: the free tier, and the territories you want. - App Privacy: enter the generated privacy policy URL, then declare that the app does not collect data. The listing shows Data Not Collected, which matches the privacy manifest compiled into the build. - Version metadata: description, keywords, support URL, copyright, and the processed build. - Screenshots: the target device family is iPhone and iPad, so both sets are required. Run the app in Simulator on the largest iPhone and iPad models and capture with File → Save Screen. - Age rating: complete Apple's questionnaire for your programming. The App Store icon is read from the build's asset catalogue; App Store Connect has no separate icon upload. ## 7. Brief App Review - Under App Review Information, enter a reachable contact. - Untick Sign-in required: the app has no accounts, so there are no demo credentials to supply. - Use Notes to describe the app as the station's official player for its live stream, schedule and podcasts, and give your on-air hours if you don't broadcast continuously. - Have music licensing documentation ready. Reviewers can request evidence of the right to stream your music under guideline 5.2.3. Guideline 4.2.6: Apple rejects apps generated from templates unless the content provider submits them. Submitting from the station's own developer account is the compliant path, and the reason the panel never publishes on your behalf. ## 8. Submit - On the version page, Add for Review, then Submit to App Review. - Most reviews conclude within a few days. Questions arrive in App Store Connect and can usually be answered there without a new build. - On approval, release manually or let the version release automatically. ## 9. Request and enable CarPlay CarPlay audio apps need the com.apple.developer.carplay-audio entitlement on your team, which only Apple can grant. - The team's Account Holder files Apple's CarPlay entitlement request under the audio category. Responses commonly take one to three weeks. - Keep the panel's CarPlay switch off until then. A CarPlay project fails automatic signing on a team without the entitlement, because the provisioning profile lacks it. - Once granted, enable the panel switch labelled "Apple has approved CarPlay for my app", rebuild iOS and download the new project. It switches to the CarPlay Info.plist and entitlements file. - Archive and upload as in step 5, create a new App Store version matching the version shown on the build in the panel, attach the build and submit. Updates: same cycle, from rebuild to submission. The station's feed carries streams, schedule, podcasts and links, so none of those needs a version. Inputs ## Have these before you start - A paid developer membership: individual or organization, renewed yearly - A Mac on a current macOS: one that runs Xcode 26 or later - Xcode project (.zip): the latest iOS build under Build your apps - Bundle ID: the iOS value in the panel's Store identifiers card - Privacy policy URL: generated per app, under Publish in the stores Open your dashboard ## Need help? All publishing guides - Home - Publishing guides - Shipping the Tizen package to Samsung Smart TVs # Shipping the Tizen package to Samsung Smart TVs The panel builds a .wgt signed with your own Samsung certificate pair, which you generate in Tizen Studio. You register the app in Seller Office, upload the package and the store assets, and request certification. Plan around two constraints: a new seller launches in the US only, and certification runs for weeks. - Public sellers: US launch - Signed with your author certificate - Tizen 4.0+, 2018 sets onward Distribution scope: Seller Office admits new members as public sellers, and a public seller's apps can launch in the United States only. Any other country requires partner status, which Samsung grants through its regional content teams. ## 1. Request Seller Office membership - Sign in at seller.samsungapps.com/tv with a Samsung account. - Submit the membership request with the legal details of the station or company. Samsung approves members before they can register apps. - For distribution outside the US, raise partner status with Samsung early; it is a separate, slower process. ## 2. Install the tooling - Install Tizen Studio from developer.tizen.org, or the Tizen extension for Visual Studio Code if that is your editor. - In Package Manager → Extension SDK, add the Samsung Certificate Extension. Certificate Manager offers Samsung certificates only once it is installed. ## 3. Generate the certificate pair - Tools → Certificate Manager → + to start a certificate profile. - Select the Samsung certificate type and the TV device type. - Generate the author certificate with a name and password; Certificate Manager authenticates you against your Samsung account. - Generate the distributor certificate at the Public privilege level, or Partner if Samsung has granted it. - Note where Certificate Manager writes the two .p12 files, and record both passwords. The author certificate is permanent. Samsung verifies every update against the author certificate of the first release, and a package signed by any other author is refused. Keep an offline backup of the .p12 and its password for the life of the app. ## 4. Upload the certificates and build - In the panel's Samsung certificates card, upload the author and distributor .p12 files with their passwords. They are stored encrypted and unsealed only inside the build that uses them. - Under Build your apps, build Samsung; the panel runs tizen package -t wgt with your security profile. - Download the Samsung package (.wgt). Signing locally instead? With no certificates on file, the Samsung build returns the Tizen source (.zip) for you to package and sign in Tizen Studio. ## 5. Register the app and its assets - Create the app in Seller Office and upload the .wgt as its binary. - Attach samsung/icon-512x423.png (the 512 × 423 icon), samsung/logo-1920x1080.png and samsung/background-1920x1080.jpg. - Add four 1920 × 1080 screenshots, captured from the Tizen Studio TV emulator or a Samsung set. - Complete the description and privacy policy URL, plus the UI description Seller Office requests: a short account of the screens and the remote's controls. ## 6. Request certification - Fill in the test information completely: no login exists, the live channel's broadcast hours, and that on-demand videos play at any time if you have them. - Submit for certification. Samsung tests on physical sets; allow a few weeks. - After it passes, release the app from Seller Office. Frequent rejection causes: Back-key handling and incomplete test details. The template implements Samsung's Back rules (up one level, exit dialog on Home, long presses ignored), which leaves the test details as the part to get right. ## 7. Ship updates Rebuild Samsung in the panel with the original author certificate still on file, upload the new .wgt as a new version, and request certification again. Videos, logo and links come from the feed and need no new version. Inputs ## Have these before you start - Samsung account: used by Seller Office and by Certificate Manager - Tizen Studio: with the Samsung Certificate Extension, or the Tizen extension for VS Code - Store images (.zip): samsung/icon-512x423.png, logo-1920x1080.png and background-1920x1080.jpg - 4 screenshots: 1920 × 1080, captured from the running app - Privacy policy URL: generated per app, under Publish in the stores Open your dashboard ## Need help? All publishing guides - Home - Publishing guides - Shipping the webOS package to LG Smart TVs # Shipping the webOS package to LG Smart TVs The LG build is an unsigned .ipk produced with ares-package; LG applies its own signature when the app is submitted, so there are no certificates to manage. The work is in the paperwork LG requires, a current self-checklist and a UX scenario, and in waiting out QA. - Seller account: free - Signed by LG at submission - webOS 4.x+, 2018 sets onward Seller Lounge labels change between revisions of the site; each step states what the screen is for, which survives a rename. ## 1. Register as a seller - Sign up at seller.lgappstv.com. - Register as an individual or a corporate seller and complete the profile. There is no registration fee. ## 2. Build the .ipk - Build LG under Build your apps. - Download the LG package (.ipk). Leave it unsigned: LG signs submitted packages itself. The package declares the app ID from the panel's Store identifiers in its appinfo.json. That ID cannot change after publication. ## 3. Create the app and upload the package - Start a new app registration in Seller Lounge. - Where an app ID is requested, enter the webOS ID from Store identifiers so it matches the package's appinfo.json. - Upload the .ipk. ## 4. Attach assets and listing details - Icon: lg/icon-400x400.png, meeting LG's 400 × 400 minimum. - Background: lg/background-1920x1080.jpg. - Screenshots: one main image and two to five additional ones, captured in the webOS TV Simulator or on an LG set. - Description, category and the generated privacy policy URL. ## 5. Prepare the self-checklist and UX scenario - Download the self-checklist from Seller Lounge at the time of submission. LG rejects outdated checklist templates outright, so a copy saved from an earlier submission is not safe to reuse. - Write the UX scenario: the screen flow and the function of each key. The template's screens are Home, Live, the video detail page, the video player, Search and About, plus the exit dialog. - State the input model explicitly: D-pad focus throughout, Magic Remote pointer supported, Back up one level, and no login. ## 6. Submit for QA - Submit. LG's QA tests the app on its own sets. - Budget several weeks: reported turnarounds run from three weeks to three months. Answer any QA queries in Seller Lounge. - On approval, the app is published to LG's store. Updates: rebuild LG in the panel, upload the new .ipk with a fresh checklist where LG asks for one, and resubmit. Every update goes through QA again. Content from the feed, including videos and links, never requires one. Every new station runs on Icecast. Pick SHOUTcast only if you switched your station to SHOUTcast in the panel. - Address and Port: the Server and Port from Encoder settings. - Password: your source password. - Icecast mountpoint: /stream. Get help - Home - Knowledgebase - CloudorVPS - Initial access # Initial access Our VPS setup will only allow initial connection via private SSH key. It can be changed afterwards as you wish. The easiest method of creating one is via PuTTYgen. If you do not already have PuTTY, it can be installed from: https://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/w64/putty-64bit-0.74-installer.msi Newer versions can be found here: https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/latest.html In order to add a private key at the setup step, please follow these instructions: Once installed, search for PuTTYgen and start it. From there click "Generate" and follow the on screen instructions. Our VPS order page will require the newly generated public key in its entirety. Press the button "Save private key" and save it somewhere safe, you will need it in order to access your new VPS. Select Yes on the warning or No if you wish to go back and attach a password for the key file, for increased security Initial VPS username is the name of the selected Operating System without the version name. For example the username for Ubuntu 20.04 is "ubuntu". Now search for the application PuTTY and start it. Add the VPS IP into the hostname field. The IP can be found under domain once you login via our website and access your VPS service. On the left side of PuTTY, go to "Connection" -> "SSH" -> "Auth" and click the "Browse" button. Select the .ppk file saved earlier and then click "Open". If you do not add your own public key, a random one will be assigned to the VPS. In order to use it with Putty, you will need to download the private key from your dashboard, once the VPS is active. Afterwards open PuttyGen, Select "Conversions" in the upper left side of the window, then "Import Key" and select the newly downloaded .rsa file Choose "Save private key" afterwards and use it to access your VPS as explained above. ## Still stuck? Get help - Home - Knowledgebase - Radio - Radio dashboard user guide # Radio dashboard user guide Your Get Stream Hosting radio station now runs on our own radio platform, managed from the Radio section of your account. This guide walks through it tab by tab: the music library, playlists, the week's programming, live DJs, your listen links and your audience. Words in bold are the exact labels on your screen. Saving, in one line: playlist and schedule changes reach the air only when you press Save programming and the line beside it reads All changes saved. In an editor, Done & save saves for you; Done, save later only closes it. ## Contents - Finding your station - Saving: what goes on air when - Overview - Music: your library - Playlists - Format: rotation, spots, set times - Schedule: the week - Clocks - Programs and voice tracks - Go live: encoders and DJs - The browser studio - Listen links and the player - Audience - Licensing and Commercials - Coming from your old panel - When something is wrong ## 1. Finding your station - Sign in to your account and choose Radio in the menu on the left. From the home page or an account page, Manage station takes you to the same place. - Each station is a card. Its header shows the station name, its account number, its plan and a status pill (Online, Stopped and so on). - The buttons at the top right of the card act on the whole station: Start, Stop, Restart and, on Auto DJ plans, Skip track. They act at once, without asking first. - Under the header are the station's tabs. A station with Auto DJ has: Overview, Audience, Music, Format, Playlists, Schedule, Clocks, Programs, Voice tracks, Licensing, Commercials, Share and Go live. A Free station (live only, no Auto DJ) has Overview, Audience, Schedule, Licensing, Share and Go live. There is no "Settings" tab. Your station's time zone is under Go live › Live settings (or the change link at the foot of the Audience tab). Bitrate and listener limits come with your plan and are shown on the Overview. A card that says Being set up is a new station; it is ready within about 15 minutes of payment. ## 2. Saving: what goes on air when This is the part most people moving from Centova miss, so it comes first. The dashboard saves in two different ways. ### Programming is a draft until you press Save programming Everything on the Format, Playlists, Schedule, Clocks and Programs tabs edits one draft of your programming. Nothing in that draft reaches the air until you send it. - Make your changes. You can move between those five tabs freely; the draft stays with you. - As soon as something is unsaved, a bar appears above your stations: Unsaved programming changes. Your station plays them only after you save. Once you scroll, it stays pinned under the dashboard header. The bottom of the tab shows Save programming with Unsaved changes beside it. - Press Save programming (in the bar or at the bottom of the tab). The line reads Saving…, then the message Programming saved. Your station picks it up in a moment. appears. - Check that the line beside the button now reads All changes saved, followed by when this browser last saved (for example "last saved today at 9:56 PM"), and that the bar has gone. That is your proof it is on air. When there is nothing to save, the button stays grey; that is normal, not stuck. ### Closing an editor: Done, save later or Done & save - In a playlist's Tracks editor and in the clock editor, Done & save closes the editor and saves your whole programming in one go. Done, save later closes it and keeps the change in the draft, for when you have more to do first. - The schedule slot, seasonal schedule and folder playlist editors close with Done (or Add slot, Create, Play this folder). These put the change in the draft only; then press Save programming. ### If a save does not go through The line beside the button turns red and reads Not saved, and a red bar explains why: it starts Not saved:, gives the reason, and ends Your changes are still here. Nothing is lost. - If the reason is about your programming (for example A playlist needs a name.), fix that and press Try again. - If it says our network or our servers turned the save away, press Try again in a minute. If it keeps happening, chat with us and quote the error number it shows. ### Unsaved changes are kept, and can be thrown away - Close the tab or follow a dashboard link with unsaved changes and you are asked first: by your browser, or by the panel's Leave without saving? window. If you leave anyway, this browser keeps your draft for up to 30 days, and next time you open Radio the bar offers it again: You have unsaved changes from a given time, with Save, Discard and Show. Until you save, your station keeps playing the programming it had. - To throw a draft away, press Discard changes (beside Save programming) or Discard in the bar, and confirm. Your station keeps its saved programming. This cannot be undone. - Show in the bar takes you to the station whose changes are waiting. Uploading is not the same as putting on air. An upload never needs Save programming: it only adds the file to your library, and the panel says so (Track uploaded to your library. To put it on air, open a playlist’s Edit tracks, add it and press Done & save.). Adding that track to a playlist is a programming change, so that part does need saving. The one exception: a file uploaded into the folder of a folder playlist plays by itself, and the message then names the playlist. ### These take effect at once - Music library: uploading, deleting, Edit track › Save, and creating, renaming, moving or deleting folders and files. When you move or rename something, your saved playlists are updated to follow it. - Go live: encoder passwords, DJ accounts, DJ hours, Live settings and contributor links. - Your shows (the public line-up on the Schedule tab), voice tracks, extra streams, the time zone and the SHOUTcast switch. - Save episode on the Programs tab and Save in a podcast window: these save your whole programming at once, other unsaved changes included. - Start, Stop, Restart and Skip track. Some of these restart Auto DJ once, and the panel warns you before it does: listeners hear a few seconds of silence. Live settings and the time zone work this way. DJ hours never restart anything. ## 3. Overview The Overview tab, from top to bottom: - On air: the song playing now, the show on now and the next show, and a Recently played list. It updates itself every few seconds. - The status and what it means: | Status | What to do | Online | Nothing; your station is up. Auto DJ plays, or connect your encoder to go live. | Not responding | Press Restart. If it stays like this, chat with us. | Stopped | Someone switched it off. Press Start. | Starting / Stopping | Wait a few seconds. | Suspended | Chat with us to have it restored. - A warning about missing files, if a playlist names files that are no longer in your library. Fix in Format takes you to them. - Listeners: how many are listening now, out of your plan's maximum, with the peak and average of the last 24 hours. Under it, Listener hours this month, used against your plan's allowance. - Listen: your station's links, with Copy link and Open. See Listen links. - Streaming server: Icecast or SHOUTcast, and the switch between them. - Your station's own app and, on plans with more than one stream, Extra streams. ## 4. Music: your library The Music tab holds every file Auto DJ can play. At the top, a bar shows how much of your storage you are using. Below it are the folders, the upload box, and the tracks in the folder you have selected. ### Folders The folder list starts with All files (everything) and Top level (files that are not in any folder), then your folders. Click a folder to see its tracks; the arrow beside it opens its subfolders. - Make a folder: press New folder, type a Name (for example News), choose where it goes under Inside (or leave Top level), then press Create folder. - Rename or move a folder: select it, press Rename / move, change the Name or the Inside folder, and press Save. Its tracks go with it and your playlists follow. You can also drag a folder onto another folder. - Delete a folder: select it and press Delete folder. The confirmation tells you how many tracks are inside and which playlists use them. Deleting a folder deletes the tracks in it. - Make a playlist from a folder: select it and press Make a playlist. See folder playlists. ### Uploading - Select the folder the files should go into. With All files or Top level selected they go to the top level. - Drag audio files from your computer onto the box that says Drag audio files here, or choose files, or click choose files and pick them. The line under the box lists the formats your station accepts and the largest file size. - Each file shows its progress and then Done. A file that could not be uploaded stays on screen with the reason. - The track is now in your library, ready to use. To play it, add it to a playlist (Edit tracks › Add › Done & save), or upload it into a folder that a folder playlist plays. You can also drop files from your computer straight onto a folder in the folder list, and they upload into that folder. A new track shows Analyzing… for a short while as we read its tags and measure its loudness; until then its Edit button is greyed out. Prefer to upload by FTP or SFTP? Ask us in chat for a login. Files uploaded that way show up in the library by themselves. ### Editing a track Press Edit on a track. In Edit track you can change: - Title, Artist, Album: what listeners see in their player. - The cover: Upload a cover or Remove cover (JPEG or PNG). - The royalty details: ISRC, Year, Label, Composer, Genre, and an optional Rights end on date, after which the track leaves the air but stays in your library. - Category & tags, which smart playlists use. - Weight (1 to 10: a higher weight plays more often) and Explicit, plus Cue in / out and Intro / outro markers. These four come with Platinum. Press Save. The change takes effect at once. ### Moving or renaming a file - Press Move on the track. - Choose another Folder, or change the File name (the extension is kept for you), and press Move. Playlists that list the track follow it. You can also drag a track onto a folder in the folder list. ### Deleting a track Press Delete on the track and confirm. It is removed at once and Auto DJ stops playing it. There is no undo, so keep your own copy of anything you may want back. ### Duplicates A track with the same audio as another is marked Duplicate. Press Duplicates only above the list to see just those, and Show all to go back. ## 5. Playlists Auto DJ plays your default playlist unless the format or the schedule picks another. With no playlists at all, it shuffles your whole library. ### Making a playlist and adding tracks - On the Playlists tab press New playlist. A playlist called "New playlist" appears; type its real name over it. - Choose its play order: Shuffle or In order. - Press Edit tracks. The Tracks editor opens with In this playlist on the left and your Library on the right. - Find tracks with Search title, artist or folder or the folder menu, then press Add on each track, or Add all shown. You can also drag tracks across. - To take a track out, press × beside it. In an In order playlist, use the ↑ ↓ arrows or drag to change the order. - Press Done & save and wait for All changes saved. (Or Done, save later if you want to edit more playlists first, then Save programming.) To add brand-new files while you are in the Tracks editor, use Upload… at the top of it. They are added to the end of the playlist and go on air when you press Done & save. You can also create a playlist from the Format tab (New playlist under All playlists). That version asks straight away what the playlist is for: General (songs mixed by weight), Interval (every N songs or minutes), Scheduled (at a set time) or Nothing yet. Then press Create and add tracks. ### The controls on each playlist Playlists are listed A to Z. The A–Z / Order added switch above the list (also on Format › All playlists) shows them in the order they were created instead; this browser remembers your choice. A playlist you have just added stays at the top until you reload the page. Every menu where you pick a playlist is A to Z too. Next to the number of tracks, each playlist shows how long it takes to play through once, for example ≈ 1 h 20 min. The Tracks editor shows the same total beside In this playlist and updates it as you add or remove tracks. It is an estimate from the tracks' measured lengths: a track not measured yet counts as 3 min 30 s, and a file no longer in your library counts nothing. - Default: the playlist that plays when nothing else is scheduled. - The On / Off switch: Off keeps the playlist and all the places it is used, but stops it playing. Nothing is deleted. - Edit tracks, Play a folder…, Smart… and Delete. Deleting a playlist removes it from the rotation and schedule too; your files stay in the library. ### Folder playlists: a show that updates itself A folder playlist plays whatever is in its folder at the time. Upload a file into the folder and it plays; delete it and it stops, with no playlist editing. This is the way to run a daily news bulletin or a weekly show. - In Music, make a folder for the show (for example Morning News) and upload the first episode into it. - On the playlist, press Play a folder… (or select the folder in Music and press Make a playlist). - Pick the Folder, then under Plays choose one of: - Every track in the folder - Every track in the folder and its subfolders - Only the newest track (this week’s episode, a daily bulletin): each time you upload the new episode, that one plays. You may delete the old ones or leave them. - Choose the Order (Shuffle or In order (by file name)). If the playlist already had tracks, you can keep them to play first, as an intro or jingle. - Press Play this folder (or Done), then Save programming. - Now schedule the playlist at the show's time; see Format. From then on, just upload each new episode into the folder. Files that arrive by FTP are picked up the same way. ### Smart playlists Press Smart… on a playlist to fill it with every track of a Category and/or with certain Tags (set them in Music › Edit track). A track you tag later joins by itself. Press Save, then Save programming. ## 6. Format: rotation, spots and set times The Format tab shows your whole station on one page, the way a program director thinks about it, starting with a few plain sentences that describe what will play. It has five parts. Everything here is part of the draft: finish with Save programming. ### General rotation: which playlists make up your music - Under General rotation press Add a playlist and choose one. - Give each playlist a Weight. Each song is picked from one of the playlists at random by weight: with weights 18 and 6, the first plays three songs for every one of the second. The bar beside each shows its share. Without a rotation, the default playlist plays. ### Interval playlists: commercials, IDs, promos - Press Add an interval and choose the Playlist (your jingles or ads). - Set Plays every N songs or minutes, and how much Each break plays (a number of tracks, or the whole playlist). - Choose the Order, the Days and the Hours (or All day), and press Add interval. A break waits for the end of the song on air, so no song is ever cut. ### Scheduled playlists: play at a set time Use this for a show, a bulletin or a countdown that starts at a given time. - Press Add a scheduled playlist and choose the Playlist. - Under Repeats pick Weekly, on the days below, Daily or One time, on a date, then the Days or Date and the time it starts (At). - Choose the Order and when it Stops: When the playlist has played through, At a time, or After a number of minutes. - Tick Start on the minute: fade out whatever is playing if it must start exactly on time (for the news at the top of the hour). Without it, it waits for the song on air to finish. - Press Add, then Save programming. When it has finished, the rotation carries on. ### The week A planner of your week, the same one as on the Schedule tab. See Schedule. ### Fades and levels Crossfade, Fade in and Fade out, in seconds. With a crossfade the next song starts that many seconds before the current one ends; 0 is a clean cut. Loudness levelling (Platinum) evens out the volume between tracks. ### All playlists A table of every playlist and what it does: in the rotation, an interval, scheduled, in a clock, the default, or Not used. Use as… gives a playlist another job; a playlist can do more than one. ## 7. Schedule: the week The Schedule tab has two separate things on it. Keep them apart: - Your shows, at the top, is the line-up listeners see in your app, on your public page and in the directory ("Breakfast with Ana, weekdays 7 to 10"). It is a description only: nothing plays from it, and it saves as soon as you press Add show or Save. - The week planner, below it, decides what actually plays when. It is part of the programming draft. ### Adding a show to the line-up Press Add a show, fill in the Title, Host (optional), Days and the times, add a square Picture if you like, and press Add show. ### Planning the week On the left of the planner are your playlists (and clocks). The grid shows Monday to Sunday, hour by hour, in your station's time zone. - Choose what a drop creates: Dropping makes a show (the playlist plays through once at that time, then the rotation carries on) or a time window (the playlist or clock plays for the whole window). - Drag a playlist onto a day and time. Or press + beside it, or press Add a slot and fill in Days, From — to and Plays (easier on a phone). - Drag a block up or down to change its time on all its days, or onto another day to move that day only. Hold Shift to move every day along, Ctrl or Alt to copy. Drag the bottom edge of a window to change its end. Everything snaps to 5 minutes. - Click a block to change it: its playlist, days and time, Start on the minute for a show, or Remove. - Press Save programming. Copy… copies one day to other days (Copy day) or replaces the whole week from another schedule (Replace week). Where nothing is scheduled, the default playlist plays (or, with no default, the whole library shuffles). A window cannot run past midnight: split it into two. ### The week check Under the planner, the week check lists anything to look at before you save: two windows that overlap (it tells you which one plays), a slot whose playlist is empty or deleted so it would fall silent, and shows that run into each other. ✓ Week check: no overlaps, gaps or silent slots. means all is well. ### Seasonal schedules (holidays and special weeks) A seasonal schedule takes over from your normal week between two dates, at the times it has slots for; outside those times, and outside those dates, your normal week plays. - Press + Seasonal, give it a Name (for example Christmas), choose the dates under From — to, and press Create. - With its name selected in the row of buttons above the planner, add its slots as above. Base takes you back to your normal week. - If two seasons share dates, ↑ Higher and ↓ Lower decide which wins. Edit dates and Delete season are on the same bar. - Press Save programming. ### Playout settings Also on this tab: Crossfade, Clean mode (no explicit tracks), Smart shuffle (don't repeat a track, artist or album too soon, with an option to follow the US webcasting rules), Compress uploads (WAV/AIFF to MP3), Take listener requests and Loudness levelling. They are part of the draft too. ## 8. Clocks A clock is one hour of programming you can reuse: for example, a station ID, four songs from your hits playlist, a jingle, three more songs, the news fixed at :00 and a commercial break fixed at :20. Clocks are built from your playlists, so make those first. - On the Clocks tab press New clock and name it. - Press Add element for each part. Choose its type (Music, Jingle, Station ID, Commercial, News, Weather, Program), the playlist it plays from, and how many tracks. - Set each element In sequence (plays in turn) or Fixed at a minute of the hour. Drag the elements to put them in order. - Read The hour preview and the Check box underneath, which warns about empty or thin playlists. - Press Done & save (or Done, save later). - Put the clock on the week: on the Schedule tab, drag it onto the planner (a clock always makes a time window) or choose it under Plays in Add a slot. Then Save programming. ## 9. Programs and voice tracks ### Programs: pre-recorded and syndicated shows - Upload the show's files in Music. - On the Programs tab press New program and name it. If its episodes have breaks, choose the playlists for Station IDs from and Ads from. - Press New episode, give it a Title, and add what plays in order: Add file for each file and Add break for each break. For a syndicated show with a cue sheet, use Import a cue sheet and Read cue sheet: the commercials in the file are left out and your own break plays instead. - Under When it airs, choose Once or Weekly, the day and time, and press Add airing. Add more airings for reruns, and an Expires (optional) date if it should stop. - Press Save episode. This saves straight away: it puts the episode on air together with any other programming changes not saved yet. Publish as podcast on a program turns its episodes into a podcast feed (without the breaks) that you can submit to Apple Podcasts or Spotify. ### Voice tracks: talk breaks recorded ahead - On the Voice tracks tab, press Turn on (Auto DJ restarts once). - Press Switch on the microphone, then Record, then Stop. Give it a label and press Save. - Under your recordings, press Air next or Air at… to choose the day and time. It plays between two songs. ## 10. Go live: encoders and DJs When you or a DJ connect an encoder, you take over from Auto DJ, and Auto DJ takes back over the moment you disconnect. Everything for live broadcasting is on the Go live tab. ### Your encoder settings Under Encoder settings you find what to type into BUTT, Mixxx, RadioBOSS, OBS, SAM Broadcaster or any other encoder: | Field in the panel | Where it goes in your encoder | Server type: Icecast 2 or SHOUTcast | Server type. Either works. | Server | Server, address or host | Port | Port | Mount | Mount or mountpoint (Icecast only) | Username | User (Icecast; usually source) | Password | Password. Press Show to see it for a minute, or Copy. Set your encoder's bitrate no higher than your plan's (shown on the Overview as Up to N kbps). An encoder that sends more is disconnected, and Encoder settings then says so: Your encoder was disconnected, with the bitrate it sent and the one to use. A SHOUTcast encoder needs only the server, port and password. If you think someone else has your password, press Get a new password: your encoder is disconnected and must reconnect with the new one. On Platinum, a Nearest server block comes first: one server and port that passes your broadcast on to your station, which holds up better over long distances. The direct settings underneath keep working. ### DJ accounts - Under DJ accounts, type a name in New DJ username and press Add DJ. - The DJ account created window shows the Server, Port, Mount, Username and Password to give your DJ. You can reveal the password again later with Show passwords. - To limit when a DJ may broadcast, go to Live settings › DJ hours and press Set hours. A DJ with no hours can go live any time; with hours, they can connect only inside them and are taken off the air when their time is up. - Remove deletes a DJ account. If DJ logins came across from your old panel, they are listed separately, under DJs from your old control panel. Their passwords cannot be shown; if one is lost, press Set new password. ### On air now At the top of Go live, On air now shows who is live and how good their connection is. Disconnect takes a DJ off the air; under And then you can keep them out for 15 minutes up to 7 days, since most encoders reconnect by themselves. Let back in lifts that. ### Live settings Press Change these settings to set: - Time zone: your schedule and DJ hours run in it. - Dead-air detection: a DJ who is connected but silent counts as gone after the time you choose, and Auto DJ plays instead of dead air. - Next-show handoff (Platinum): the next DJ connects early to the /next mount and takes over the moment the current one leaves. Also a standby source adds a /standby mount for a backup encoder. - Talk over the music: a DJ who connects to /talk with just a microphone is heard over the music, which dips while they talk. - Record every live broadcast: each live show is saved as an MP3 in the Recordings folder of your Music library. Saving these restarts Auto DJ once (a few seconds of silence, and a DJ on air has to reconnect). ### Contributor links (Platinum) Send a guest a link and they go live from their browser, as one of your DJs, with nothing to install and no password. Choose the DJ and how long the link works, press Make a link, and copy it straight away: it is shown only once. Withdraw stops it. ## 11. The browser studio Go live from your browser, with no encoder to install. You need at least one DJ account, because the studio broadcasts as one of your DJs, with their hours. - On Go live, under Broadcast from your browser, press Open the studio. It opens in a new tab. Use Chrome, Edge or Firefox, and wear headphones. - Choose the DJ under Broadcast as. - Under Microphone press Switch on and allow the browser to use it. M on your keyboard turns the mic on and off. - Drop music onto Deck A or Deck B and use Play, Next and the crossfader. Cue lets you hear a deck in your headphones only. Lower the music while the mic is on dips the music for you. - Press Go live. The pill shows On air and the time. To tell listeners what is playing, type it under Now playing and press Send title, or tick From the decks. - Press End show when you finish; Auto DJ takes over. ## 12. Listen links and the player - Listen (Overview): your station's https link. It plays in browsers, VLC and most radio apps. Press Copy link to share it. - For older players (Winamp, hardware radios): the same stream over plain http, for players that cannot open https links. - Listen link with the Nearest server badge (Platinum): one link that connects each listener to our server nearest to them, so the station starts faster and buffers less. Your other links keep working. - Extra streams: on plans with more than one stream, Add a stream adds the same audio at a lower bitrate, for mobile listeners. - Share tab: a player for your own website. Choose the Theme, Accent colour and Height, watch the preview, then press Copy under Embed code and paste it into your site. Below it you can set up your public station page and directory listing. Use the links shown here everywhere you publish your station. If listeners tell you an old link from your previous panel has stopped working, chat with us. SHOUTcast instead of Icecast: under Streaming server on the Overview, Switch to SHOUTcast moves your station to a SHOUTcast DNAS server on any plan, with its own status and admin pages and a SHOUTcast Directory listing. Links, encoder settings, music and schedule stay the same; listeners reconnect after a few seconds. Switch back to Icecast reverses it. ## 13. Audience Listening now, at the top, lists who is connected right now: country, city, player, how long and which stream. Export CSV downloads the list. Below it, choose a period (24 hours to 90 days, depending on your plan) for listener hours, sessions, unique listeners, average listen and peak, then when listeners tune in and leave, how long they stay, your programs and tracks, and where your listeners are and what they use. A listen counts once it lasts a minute. Take it with you downloads CSV files or emails you a weekly or monthly report. ## 14. Licensing and Commercials - Licensing: your music licences, where the station may be heard (Everywhere, Only in these countries or Everywhere except these countries), royalty reports, and the Airplay history of every recording you played, searchable and downloadable. - Commercials: proof of airing for your advertisers. Choose a period, press Find commercials, tick the commercials or a whole spot playlist, then View report, Download CSV or Print / Save as PDF. To schedule commercials, use Interval playlists on the Format tab. ## 15. Coming from your old panel (MediaCP or Centova) When your station moved, we copied your music and your programming across. If something you had is missing, tell us in chat. Here is where the everyday tasks live now. | In your old panel you… | Here you… | Started or stopped the server or the AutoDJ | Use Start, Stop or Restart on the station card. | Skipped a song | Press Skip track on the station card. | Uploaded with the file manager or FTP, then refreshed the media library | Drag files onto the upload box in Music. There is nothing to refresh: files appear and play by themselves. | Managed folders in the file manager | Music › New folder, Rename / move, Delete folder. | Renamed a file | Music › Move on the track › change the File name. | Edited a song's ID3 tags | Music › Edit track. | Added songs to a playlist | Playlists › Edit tracks › Add › Done & save. | Added a whole folder to a playlist | Play a folder… on the playlist: it keeps following the folder. | Made a general rotation playlist with a weight | Format › General rotation › Add a playlist, and set its Weight. | Made an interval playlist (jingles or ads every N songs or minutes) | Format › Interval playlists › Add an interval. | Scheduled a playlist (daily, weekly, one time) | Format › Scheduled playlists › Add a scheduled playlist, or drag it onto the week on the Schedule tab. | Made a scheduled playlist interrupt what was playing | Tick Start on the minute: fade out whatever is playing. | Enabled or disabled a playlist | The On / Off switch on the playlist. | Saved or updated a playlist | Press Save programming and wait for All changes saved. | Set the crossfade | Format › Fades and levels, or Crossfade on the Schedule tab. | Set the time zone | Go live › Live settings › Change these settings. | Added DJ accounts and their hours | Go live › DJ accounts › Add DJ, then DJ hours › Set hours. | Looked up the source password and port for your encoder | Go live › Encoder settings. | Copied the "tune in" links or the player code | Overview › Listen for links; Share for the player. | Read listener statistics | Audience. | Checked the recent tracks | Overview › On air › Recently played, or Licensing › Airplay history. ## 16. When something is wrong | I changed a playlist but the station still plays the old one. Is there a bar above your stations saying your changes are unsaved, or does the line beside Save programming say Unsaved changes or Not saved? Then press Save programming and wait for All changes saved. The station picks it up within a moment. | Saving shows a red "Not saved" message. Your changes are still there. Read the reason: if it is about your programming (often a playlist with no tracks, or a time that is not like 07:30), fix it and press Try again. If it says the network or our servers turned the save away, try again in a minute, and chat with us with the error number if it persists. | A playlist shows ⚠ missing files. Files it lists have been deleted or renamed outside the panel. Open the playlist's tracks and remove or replace them, or turn it into a folder playlist so it always plays what is in the folder. | My encoder will not connect. Copy the server, port, mount, username and password again from Go live › Encoder settings; a single wrong character is the usual cause. If a DJ cannot connect, check their DJ hours and whether they were kept out under On air now. | My encoder connects and is dropped straight away. Look under Go live › Encoder settings. If it says Your encoder was disconnected, the encoder is sending a higher bitrate than your plan carries: lower it to the figure shown and connect again. | Listeners hear silence. Look at On air on the Overview. With a DJ connected but silent, turn on Dead-air detection. With Auto DJ on air, make sure your default playlist or rotation has tracks. Otherwise press Restart. Get help - Home - Knowledgebase - Live Video Streaming or TV Station - Video dashboard tutorial # Video dashboard tutorial Your Get Stream Hosting video channel is managed on the Streaming page of your account: the settings your encoder needs, whether you are live and who is watching, your player and embed code, restreaming, and for TV stations the media library, playlists and weekly schedule. This tutorial walks through each screen with pictures. The pictures show a made-up TV station called harborlightstv. Your own server address, stream name, username and links appear in the same places on yours. Copy them from your account, never from these pictures. ## Contents - Find your channel - The Overview: live or not, and who is watching - Your encoder settings - Your player and embed code - Restream to YouTube, Facebook and others - Media Library - Playlists and the schedule (TV stations) - Widgets & Links - If your channel shows fewer screens - If something does not work ## 1. Find your channel Sign in and click Streaming in the left menu of your account. The page opens with My Services: every video service on your login, whether it is live, how many people are watching against your limit, and the bandwidth and storage it uses. Click the service's name to open it. Each video account's page in your dashboard also has a Manage channel button that opens its channel here. Dashboard › Streaming lists your services. If you have more than one account with services, pick the account in the menu at the top right of the page. ## 2. The Overview: live or not, and who is watching A service opens on its Overview. At the top right you see Service Online and, while an encoder is sending, a green LIVE badge, with buttons to restart or stop the service. Below are your viewers against your limit, the bitrate coming in, the storage and traffic used, and a live preview of your stream. The menu on the left leads to everything else in this tutorial. A service's Overview. The tabs above the Overview add more: Viewers Now lists everyone watching at this moment, GeoIP Statistics shows where they watch from, and Data Transfer shows your traffic. How many viewers you can have at once depends on your plan: 10 on the free plan, and up to 1,000 on Pro and Platinum. ### Now playing (TV stations) A TV station plays its schedule around the clock. Now Playing on the Overview shows the file on the air, how far through it is, which playlist it comes from, and what played before. Skip moves on to the next file. Now Playing on a TV station. ## 3. Your encoder settings Further down the Overview, the Live stream to service box has everything your encoder (OBS Studio, vMix, Wirecast, FFmpeg or a hardware encoder) needs. Each line has a copy button: copy the values rather than typing them. Live stream to service: your encoder settings. | Server URLThe RTMP address your encoder sends to. | Stream NameThe name of the stream. Some encoders call it the stream key. | Username and PasswordYour channel's publishing login. This is not the email and password you sign in to Get Stream Hosting with. The password is blurred: click it to see it. | Secure ServerThe same server over an encrypted connection (RTMPS), for encoders that support it. | SRTWhere shown, an address for sending over SRT, which keeps a stream steady on long or unreliable connections. | WHIP (WebRTC)For OBS Studio 30 or newer and browser encoders: choose the WHIP service, paste this address as the server, and use your publishing password as the Bearer Token. WebRTC has about half a second of delay. OBS settings shows exactly what to enter in OBS Studio, step by step. New password makes a new publishing password; encoders using the old one are disconnected and need the new one, so use it if you think someone else has your password. On a TV station, publish to the stream name live and the station switches to your live show automatically, then goes back to its schedule when you stop. An always-on encoder can publish to backup instead: it is on the air whenever no one is live, and steps aside while someone is. Step-by-step setup for each encoder: OBS Studio, vMix, Wirecast and FFmpeg. Pro and Platinum take up to 5 Mbps at 1080p. ## 4. Your player and embed code Open the HTML Embed Code tab at the top of the Overview. It shows your player as your viewers will see it, and the code that puts it on your own website. Leave Responsive ticked to make the player fill the width of the place you paste it, or set a fixed width and height. Copy the code with the button under it and paste it into your page. The player and its embed code. ## 5. Restream to YouTube, Facebook and others Stream Targets in the left menu sends your stream to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, X or any RTMP server at the same time as your channel. Click Add stream target, pick the platform, and paste the stream key it gives you. While you are live, each target shows whether it is sending; switch one off with its Enabled switch, or edit and remove it from its menu. Stream Targets. Nothing is re-encoded, so restreaming does not change the quality your own viewers get. ## 6. Media Library Pro and Platinum come with a video library: 50 GB on Pro and 200 GB on Platinum. Media Library holds your files in folders. Click Upload or drop files onto the page, and use New Folder to keep them organised. The meter at the top shows how much space you have used. The Media Library. Files are not converted, so export them first as MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio, up to 1080p: those play at once on every device. A dropped connection during an upload carries on where it stopped. ## 7. Playlists and the schedule (TV stations) ### Playlists A playlist is a list of files played one after another. On a TV station the schedule picks a playlist for each show, and a default playlist plays the rest of the time. Click New Playlist, name it and add files from your library; a playlist set to loop starts again when it ends. Playlists. ### Schedule Schedule shows your week. Choose the Default playlist that plays whenever nothing else is on, then click Add event to play a playlist at set times: every week on chosen days, or once on a date. Times are in your account's time zone, and a live encoder takes over at any time. The weekly schedule. ## 8. Widgets & Links Widgets & Links has every address for your stream: the HLS link that plays in VLC, on phones, smart TVs and set-top boxes, the player page, a thumbnail image, and your public page. The Widgets tab has small status and viewer-count widgets for your website, and JSON has a link to your live figures for your own apps. Your links. ## 9. If your channel shows fewer screens Some live channels have a shorter menu on the Streaming page: just Overview and Stream Targets. What your encoder needs is the same: the Live stream to service box on the Overview has your Server URL, Stream Name, Username and Password, with OBS settings and New password under it, and the tabs above it show your embed code, where your viewers are and who is watching now. - The channel is always on, so there is no Stop or Start button. Restart disconnects your encoder for a moment, and it reconnects by itself. - Stream Targets sends your stream to YouTube, Facebook, Twitch or any RTMP server. When you change a target, paste its stream key again before you save. - These channels have no media library, playlists or schedule, and their viewer graph stays empty. Who is watching right now shows under Viewers Now. If you need something else changed on such a channel, ask us in chat or in a ticket. ## 10. If something does not work - No LIVE badge after you start your encoder: re-copy the Server URL and Stream Name, and check you used the channel's publishing Username and Password, not your account login. If you made a new password, update it in your encoder too. - Viewers buffer: lower your encoder's bitrate, and set its keyframe interval to 2 seconds. Your upload speed should be at least twice what you send. - The player does not show on your website: use the embed code from the HTML Embed Code tab as it is. - Still stuck? Get help - Home - Knowledgebase - Live Video Streaming or TV Station - Stream with OBS Studio # Stream with OBS Studio OBS Studio is free, runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, and is the quickest way to put a live channel on air. This guide takes you from a fresh install to a stream your viewers can watch. ## 1. Find your encoder settings Everything your encoder needs is in your account: sign in, click Streaming in the left menu, open your service, and scroll down its Overview to the Live stream to service box. It lists four values, each with a copy button: - Server URL: the RTMP address your encoder sends to - Stream Name: the name of the stream. On a TV station it is live. - Username and Password: the publishing login for your channel. This is not the email and password you use to sign in to Get Stream Hosting. The password is blurred: click it to see it. If the box also shows a Stream Key line, your channel accepts a single key instead: you can use the Stream Key wherever this guide says Stream Name, and leave the username and password out. If it shows Sign-in: None, your channel needs no login at all: leave those fields empty. The video dashboard tutorial shows the box with pictures. Copy them across rather than typing them. A single wrong character in the server address or stream name and the connection is simply refused. ## 2. Add what you want to show In OBS, click + under Sources and add your camera (Video Capture Device), your screen (Display Capture), or a video file (Media Source). Check the picture in the preview and the sound in the Audio Mixer. ## 3. Point OBS at your channel Open Settings → Stream and set: - Service: Custom - Server: your Server URL - Stream Key: your Stream Name - Tick Use authentication and enter your channel's Username and Password Click Apply. The OBS settings button under the Live stream to service box shows these same values for your channel, ready to copy. ## 4. Set the quality Open Settings → Output, set Output Mode to Advanced, and on the Streaming tab use: - Video codec: H.264 (x264, or your graphics card's hardware encoder) - Resolution and frame rate: 1080p or 720p, at 25 or 30 fps - Video bitrate: 2,500 to 4,500 kbps. Your plan takes up to 5 Mbps per channel, and your upload speed should be at least twice what you send. - Keyframe interval: 2 seconds, fixed. Viewers' players need a regular keyframe to start and to switch quality smoothly. - Audio: AAC, 128 kbps, 44.1 or 48 kHz, stereo Set the resolution and frame rate under Settings → Video. ## 5. Go live Click Start Streaming. The square at the bottom of the OBS window turns green when the connection is healthy; yellow or red means your upload cannot keep up, so lower the bitrate. ## Check that it is live Back on the Streaming page, your service shows a green LIVE badge on its Overview within a few seconds of your encoder connecting. Then open your player (the Player page link under Widgets & Links) in another browser or on your phone and watch a minute of it yourself before you announce the stream. Viewers usually see the picture 10 to 20 seconds behind real time; that delay is normal. ## If it will not connect - Re-copy the Server URL and Stream Name from the Live stream to service box. The most common mistake is putting the stream name on the end of the server address as well as in its own box. - Make sure you used the channel's publishing Username and Password, not your account login. If you clicked New password in the Live stream to service box, update it in your encoder too. - Only one encoder can publish to a stream name at a time. Stop any other encoder sending to it. - Still stuck? Start a chat with us from any page: we can see whether your encoder reached the server and why it was turned away. ## Still stuck? Get help - Home - Knowledgebase - Live Video Streaming or TV Station - Stream with vMix # Stream with vMix vMix moves its menus around between versions, so this guide names the boxes and what goes in each rather than a click path. Find the labels wherever your version keeps them. ## 1. Find your encoder settings Everything your encoder needs is in your account: sign in, click Streaming in the left menu, open your service, and scroll down its Overview to the Live stream to service box. A single wrong character in the server address or stream name and the connection is simply refused. ## 2. Add a destination Open the Stream settings (the cog next to the Stream button) and choose Custom RTMP Server as the destination. ## 3. Two boxes, not one - URL: your Server URL, exactly as copied, and nothing after it - Stream Name or Key: your Stream Name on its own Putting the stream name on the end of the URL as well is the most common reason a first vMix broadcast is refused, and vMix shows no helpful error for it. ## 4. Sign in to publish Enter your channel's Username and Password in the destination's login fields. In some versions they sit behind a Login or Advanced button. ## 5. Quality Choose a custom quality profile and set: - Video codec: H.264 (x264, or your graphics card's hardware encoder) - Resolution and frame rate: 1080p or 720p, at 25 or 30 fps - Video bitrate: 2,500 to 4,500 kbps. Your plan takes up to 5 Mbps per channel, and your upload speed should be at least twice what you send. - Keyframe interval: 2 seconds, fixed. Viewers' players need a regular keyframe to start and to switch quality smoothly. - Audio: AAC, 128 kbps, 44.1 or 48 kHz, stereo Turn off scene-change keyframes so nothing shifts the 2-second spacing. ## 6. Go live Click Stream. It turns red while you are on air. ## Check that it is live Back on the Streaming page, your service shows a green LIVE badge on its Overview within a few seconds of your encoder connecting. Get help - Home - Knowledgebase - Live Video Streaming or TV Station - Stream with FFmpeg # Stream with FFmpeg FFmpeg is a free command-line encoder. It is ideal for sending a file, a capture device or another stream to your channel from a server or a small always-on machine. The command Replace the UPPERCASE parts with your values from the Live stream to service box: ffmpeg -re -i INPUT \ -c:v libx264 -preset veryfast -b:v 3000k -maxrate 3000k -bufsize 6000k \ -r 30 -g 60 -keyint_min 60 -sc_threshold 0 -pix_fmt yuv420p \ -c:a aac -b:a 128k -ar 48000 -ac 2 \ -f flv "rtmp://USERNAME:PASSWORD@SERVER-WITHOUT-RTMP-PREFIX/STREAM-NAME" For the last line: take your Server URL, put USERNAME:PASSWORD@ right after rtmp://, and add / and your Stream Name at the end. If your password has symbols such as @ or :, click New password in the Live stream to service box to get one without, or URL-encode them. ## 3. What the flags do - -re reads a file at real speed. Leave it out for a live device or stream. - -i INPUT is your source: a file such as /home/me/show.mp4, a camera, or another stream URL. Add -stream_loop -1 before -i to loop a file forever. - -c:v libx264 -preset veryfast -b:v 3000k encodes H.264 at about 3 Mbps; keep it under your plan's 5 Mbps. - -r 30 -g 60 -keyint_min 60 -sc_threshold 0 gives 30 fps with a fixed keyframe every 2 seconds. - -c:a aac -b:a 128k is AAC audio at 128 kbps. - -f flv is the container RTMP needs. ## Check that it is live Back on the Streaming page, your service shows a green LIVE badge on its Overview within a few seconds of your encoder connecting.
